Lifestyle Trust works alongside individuals and their whanau, friends and associates to facilitate the process of growing interdependence. The service is person-driven, with individuals choosing their own directions and gaining skills which enable them to live life in the way they choose. Lifestyle Trust promotes greater acceptance and inclusion of people with disabilities as well as reciprocal relationships within the community.
Your InvolvementExperience the joys and rewards that go with becoming part of a different community. Please contact Lifestyle Trust to discuss how you might become involved at the leading edge of enabling people with disabilities to live meaningful lives. Open your door to someone with a disability. Offer them the opportunity to be part of your sports club, choir, art group or church. Stretch out the hand of friendship. Ask someone with a disability where they would like to go for a coffee and take them out for an hour or so of companionship. Offer employment to a person with a disability. Focus on abilities rather than disabilities. Promote your business by becoming a sponsor of Down Under Institute, an international training week in Hamilton in 2009. Set up an automatic payment to Lifestyle Trust. Your financial help will enable us to further develop our services to people who are frequently kept in lower income brackets through no fault of their own.
